Higgsfield MCP is a hosted Model Context Protocol connector from Higgsfield AI that lets MCP-compatible agents such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor generate media from an existing Higgsfield account. The hosted connector uses OAuth to access your Higgsfield account and requires no API key. It reaches more than 30 models, including Seedance 2.5, Nano Banana Pro, and Soul 2.0, and supports editing and audio operations.
This article explains the install commands, the credit rules, and how the connector compares with the REST API, so you can price a month of agent-driven generation in credits before you connect it.
Key takeaways
Every MCP generation uses standard credits,
MCP requires a paid Higgsfield plan; the cheapest entry is the Starter plan at $19 a month billed annually for 270 credits.
Add https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp as a Claude custom connector to generate Higgsfield media from Claude after OAuth sign-in.
Higgsfield MCP
The Higgsfield help center article updated 1 August 2026 defines Higgsfield MCP as an OAuth connector that uses your existing account and plan credits. The server lives at https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp, and connecting it opens a Higgsfield authorization window where you sign in with the account you already have.

It replaces switching between separate generators. One practitioner on r/ClaudeAI (13 June 2026) who does social content for a few clients wrote that they were "bouncing between 3 different video/image tools which is getting old" before trying the connector.
Higgsfield offers three official programmatic surfaces, and they are separate things:
The hosted MCP at mcp.higgsfield.ai: OAuth login, and every job costs credits.

Connecting a client: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code
Higgsfield's connect guide lists five agents and how each one connects. A single Higgsfield account can authorize several clients at once.
Agent | How it connects |
|---|---|
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop) | Custom connector with the MCP server URL |
ChatGPT | Official Higgsfield plugin from the Plugins Directory |
Cursor | Higgsfield from Customize, then Marketplace |
Claude Code, OpenClaw, Hermes | Higgsfield CLI, installed by the agent |
Any other MCP client |

Claude web or Desktop, the six official steps:
Open claude.ai or Claude Desktop and go to Settings, then Connectors.
Click Add custom connector.
Name it Higgsfield and paste https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp.
Click Connect. A Higgsfield authorization window opens.
Sign in and authorize. If you are already logged in on higgsfield.ai, this can complete automatically.
Return to Claude. The connector appears in the active list.
Higgsfield's May 2026 blog adds one setting: set the connector's permissions to Always Allow so Claude does not prompt on every generation.
Claude Code takes the CLI route. The help center gives you a message to paste to the agent, and its commands are:
npm i -g @higgsfield/clihiggsfield login, which opens a browser sign-innpx skills add higgsfield-ai/skills, which installs the companion skills

The skills INSTALL.md offers two alternatives: curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/higgsfield-ai/cli/main/install.sh | sh then higgsfield auth login, or /plugin marketplace add higgsfield-ai/skills then /plugin install higgsfield@higgsfield. The one-liner claude mcp add --transport http --scope user higgsfield https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp followed by /mcp for OAuth circulates in third-party guides and is not on the official help page.
ChatGPT, the three official steps:
Open the Plugins Directory in ChatGPT, or go to higgsfield.ai/mcp and select Add Higgsfield plugin.
Find Higgsfield and select Add.
Sign in to your Higgsfield account and authorize.

Cursor, the three official steps:
Open Customize, then Marketplace, and find Higgsfield.
Click Add and sign in.
Ask Cursor to generate an image or video.
How credits are charged through MCP
One credit through MCP is one credit on the web. The MCP and CLI pages both say the tools use the same credit system as the Higgsfield platform, and no separate per-call surcharge is published. What MCP does not inherit is Unlimited access and free generations, and Higgsfield's All Unlimited article (22 July 2026) extends that rule to the CLI, Canvas, and Supercomputer.
The live plans on the Higgsfield pricing page, accessed 6 September 2026:
Plan | Price | Credits per month | Concurrent jobs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Free | $0 | 0 | 1 | Commercial use not included; cannot use MCP, which needs a paid plan |
Starter | $19 a month billed annually | 270 | 2 video / 4 image / 2 lipsync / 1 character | ~135 Nano Banana Pro images or ~15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos; no Seedance 2.5; commercial use included |
Plus | $59 monthly or $47 a month billed annually | 1,200 | 6 video / 8 image / 6 lipsync / 3 character | ~600 Nano Banana Pro images or ~53 Seedance 2.0 videos |
Ultra | $129 monthly or $99 a month billed annually | 3,000 (6,000 and 9,000 selectable) | 8 across all types | ~1,500 Nano Banana Pro images or ~133 Seedance 2.0 videos |

The $9 Basic plan and the $15 Starter plan with 200 credits, still quoted in June and July 2026 writeups, are retired. The pricing page FAQ sets the mechanics: credits vary by model type, duration, and resolution; subscription credits do not roll over; monthly plans refresh on the purchase date and annual plans every 30 days.
Top-up packs from higgsfield.ai/credits require a subscription and expire after 90 days:
Pack | Price |
|---|---|
80 credits | $5 |
170 credits | $10 |
380 credits | $20 |
840 credits | $40 |
1,700 credits | $80 |
That is $0.0625 per credit at the smallest pack and about $0.047 at the largest.
Higgsfield's talking-avatar guide (11 August 2026) prices a four-clip series produced through Claude and MCP:
Step | Credits |
|---|---|
Soul 2.0 character images | 0.125 each |
Soul ID training, once | 25 |
Soul 2.0 2K start frames | 0.125 each |
Seed Audio speech | 1.3 to 2.3 per script |
Seedance 2.5 talking clip, 14 seconds at 720p | ~91 each |
Four-clip series total | ~400 |
Against the Plus allotment of 1,200 credits, that is three such series a month. The same guide also tells you to give the agent one standing instruction, "Before generating anything, tell me the credit cost and wait for my confirmation."
What a generation looks like end to end
A request runs in five steps:
You give a brief in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Claude Code.
The agent picks a tool and a model unless you named one in the brief.
The hosted server runs the job against your account.
Generation is asynchronous. The CLI FAQ: "All generation runs asynchronously, so your agent polls for results and delivers them as soon as they're ready."
The result returns in chat, and a copy lands in Assets tagged MCP.
Higgsfield's May 2026 Claude guide uses this as a first prompt: "Generate a cinematic 5-second wide shot of a neon-lit Tokyo alley at night, rain on the pavement, one figure walking away from camera. Use Seedance 2.0."
How long does it take? The CLI FAQ says images "typically complete in a few seconds," and videos take longer depending on duration and model; a secondary guide on mcp.directory (28 April 2026) puts images at 5 to 20 seconds and video at 30 seconds to a few minutes. Higgsfield publishes no SLA. Per the help center, every MCP job spends credits and enters the priority queue. Unlimited and free generations on the web app wait in the shared pool instead.
Rate limits and concurrency
"You've hit your limit of generations at the same time." That is the message the help center says you get at the parallel cap, and a job stuck in the queue holds one of those slots until it clears.
Concurrency is the primary limit, and it is set per plan. The pricing page shows it two ways: a summary block reading 1 / 3 / 3 concurrent jobs for Starter / Plus / Ultra, and a detailed block reading 2 video / 4 image for Starter, 6 / 8 for Plus, and 8 across types for Ultra. Confirm the figure for your account at higgsfield.ai or cloud.higgsfield.ai. No requests-per-second figure for MCP is published.
The REST API rate-limit page on docs.higgsfield.ai (22 August 2026) says limits vary by account, subscription, and model; exceeding the applicable cap returns 400 Bad Request:
{ "detail": "Maximum number of concurrent requests (4) has been reached" }
{ "detail": "Maximum number of concurrent requests (4) has been reached" }
{ "detail": "Maximum number of concurrent requests (4) has been reached" }
In that response, 4 is an example rather than a universal cap, and the API omits a Retry-After header. Higgsfield's guidance is a worker pool or semaphore, backoff with jitter, and an email to [email protected] before a planned spike.

Terms of Use section 1.5 allows Higgsfield to impose usage and resource limits across its developer tools and change them without notice. It also forbids users from bypassing those limits through multiple accounts.
Who Higgsfield MCP is for
The tester on r/ClaudeAI who tried four video MCPs in Claude on 23 May 2026 stayed with this one because "one connection gets you sora 2, veo 3.1, kling, seedance 1.5 pro, nano banana, soul id," with Claude proposing ready scenarios on top. That is the solo builder or creator working inside Claude, and the audience is large enough to sustain walkthroughs: AI Foundations' setup video (21 May 2026) had 26.5K views, and RandomAI's one-prompt sitcom video (27 August 2026) had 8.2K.
The agent developer hires it as a render layer inside their own agent. A post on r/HermesAgentAI (25 May 2026) goes from a product URL to a UGC ad in about four minutes, with research in Hermes and rendering in Higgsfield, and a terminal studio on r/AgentContext_dev (2 September 2026) combines Higgsfield MCP with ElevenLabs and FFmpeg. Higgsfield's own Games blog (27 July 2026) and its GPT-6 Astra demo posts (3 to 6 September 2026) show the same pattern from the vendor side.
The ad or social team producing variants is the third reader. Teacher's Tech (29 July 2026, 4.4K views) built a product-launch asset set from one Claude brief, showing how an ad team can produce coordinated variants inside the agent. That team gets its own section below.
How Higgsfield MCP compares with the REST API and other video MCP servers
Two endpoints, https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp and https://api.higgsfield.ai, reach the same models and the same credits with different callers.
Axis | Hosted MCP | REST API |
|---|---|---|
Endpoint | ||
Auth | OAuth account login |
|
Consumer | Claude, ChatGPT plugin, Cursor, any MCP client | Backend code, official Python and Node SDKs |
Job model | Agent tools, polling inside the agent | Submit, request_id, poll status_url or webhook |
Credits | Same plan credits | Same plan credits |
Webhooks | Not documented | Documented |
Best fit | Conversational production, one-off briefs | Deterministic pipelines, retries, batch workers |
On the REST side, the quickstart's curl POST to https://api.higgsfield.ai/higgsfield-ai/soul/v2/standard returns {"status": "queued", "request_id": ...} rather than the file; you poll from 2 seconds growing to 10 with jitter until the job completes, and output URLs stay live for at least seven days. Community local MCP servers exist mainly to call this REST API from stdio when a team does not want the hosted OAuth proxy.
Server | URL and auth | What it exposes | Pricing shape | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Higgsfield hosted MCP | 30+ models plus Soul, Cinema Studio, audio | Subscription credits, never free or unlimited | Cinematic suite inside the agent | |
fal official MCP | https://mcp.fal.ai/mcp, Bearer FAL_KEY | 1,000+ models; tools search_models, get_model_schema, get_pricing, run_model, submit_job, check_job | Pay per run; the agent can read the price before spending | Model shopping and pre-flight cost |
Replicate official MCP | https://mcp.replicate.com/sse, Replicate token | All HTTP API operations | Pay per prediction | Pinned model versions, scripted reproducibility |
Runway official MCP | https://mcp.runwayml.com/mcp, Runway account | Gen-4.5 class plus Seedance, Kling, Veo depending on plan | Runway subscription | Teams already in Runway |
Creatify official MCP | https://api.creatify.ai/mcp, OAuth | Video ads, product scrape, brand memory | Creatify plan credits | A finished ad rather than a raw clip |
fal's get_pricing tool lets an agent quote the cost before generation. Higgsfield MCP provides a balance check without a per-model rate card, so confirmation before generation is the practical spending control.
Artificial Analysis scores individual generation models, so its results describe models available through Higgsfield rather than the MCP connector. Its image-to-video arena, sampled 2 September 2026, ranks four of them as follows.
Model | Elo | Rank |
|---|---|---|
Seedance 2.0 720p | 1190 | 2 |
Gemini Omni Flash | 1180 | 4 |
Veo 3.1 | 1086 | 11 |
Kling 3.0 Pro | 1071 | 16 |
All four models are available through Higgsfield MCP. Secondary blogs from Wireflow and AITuber (2026) slot Higgsfield as the cinematic-suite pick, fal for breadth, and Replicate for scripted pipelines.
Where an ad team would use Higgsfield MCP, and what Creatify offers
According to the August 2026 changelog, Ad Multiplier runs through the MCP connector and turns one video ad into many variants that keep the original cut and pacing while changing the talent and the setting. The product-photoshoot skill creates source images in ten modes; studio and ad pack are two of them. Teams can animate them with Seedance, Kling, or Veo. In Higgsfield's vendor test, Seedance 2.5 retained multi-angle product detail, while Veo 3.1 produced the strongest physics. Consistent on-camera talent comes from Soul ID plus Seed Audio plus Seedance 2.5 talking clips, the series priced above at about 400 credits.
The constraints for ad ops:
Constraint | Operational effect |
|---|---|
Paid plan required | The Free plan has no MCP access, so the team subscribes before the first agent brief |
Every generation costs credits | Iteration inside the agent spends credits; the cheaper Unlimited path stays on the web app and cannot be automated |
Concurrency capped per plan | An unattended loop queues at the cap instead of fanning out |
ChatGPT excludes audio | Voiceover and dubbing run through Claude, not the ChatGPT plugin |
Creatify MCP lives at https://api.creatify.ai/mcp. In Claude you add it as a custom connector under Settings, then Connectors, and sign in. You then ask Claude to make a video ad from a product URL, and the connector scrapes that page and holds brand memory. The Pro plan lists it as "Creatify MCP for Claude & ChatGPT". Creatify Agent runs the production loop from a brief or URL: it researches the product, plans and generates the scenes, then composites the ad and reviews it against the brief. It ships six format skills, including /ugc and /e-commerce. Its VideoAdAgent Bench v1 figures (20 briefs, 16 systems, about 1,400 pairwise verdicts) report a 94% win rate against the leading AI ad agent and 93% against raw video models, and they are Creatify's own benchmark. Performance Agent is Creatify's AI Media Buyer and connects to the Meta, Google and TikTok ad platforms. It also connects Shopify and GA4. It audits spend, builds campaigns, and optimizes them.
Creatify plan | Price | Credits | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
Starter | $39 a month | 100 | Creatify Agent, all creation tools |
Pro | $99 a month | 300 (slider to 5,000) | Creatify MCP, Performance Agent |
API Starter | $99 a month | 500 | Published per-endpoint rates |
API Pro | $299 a month | 2,000 | Published per-endpoint rates |
Creatify's API billing page publishes a credit rate for each creation endpoint, and only creation endpoints deduct credits. URL to Video costs 5 credits per 30 seconds, and AI Avatar costs the same. Aurora costs 1 credit per second, and Ad Clone costs 12 credits per 5 seconds.
Higgsfield MCP is a model router that returns raw clips and stills from 30+ models. Creatify MCP and Creatify Agent return a finished ad with the script, actor, and template applied. Performance Agent can then launch it. Creatify publishes per-endpoint rates, while Higgsfield publishes plan credits and example workflow costs.
How to get started with Higgsfield MCP
The changelog entry of 22 August 2026 gives new users a 3-day MCP trial: verify a card, get 100 MCP-only credits, and the trial converts to a monthly Plus plan if you do not cancel. Otherwise the lowest paid entry is the Starter plan at $19 a month billed annually for 270 credits, since the Free plan has 0 credits and cannot use MCP.

First, add the custom connector in Claude with the URL above, or paste the three-command message into Claude Code, then ask the agent for your credit balance before any generation. Second, paste the confirm-before-generate instruction into the conversation and run a Tokyo-alley style test prompt with a named model.
What Higgsfield MCP changes
Higgsfield announced Claude Fable 5.1 on 3 September 2026 as "available on Claude via Higgsfield MCP" in the same breath as its own web app, so the agent is now a first-class front end for the catalog. The open question is whether the Unlimited tier ever crosses into that agent path; as of the 1 August 2026 help center, the answer is no. Until it does, the picture of the product is an agent reporting "~91 credits" for a 14-second clip and waiting for a yes.
FAQs
What is Higgsfield MCP?
Higgsfield MCP is a hosted Model Context Protocol connector from Higgsfield AI that lets MCP-compatible agents like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor generate Higgsfield media using an existing Higgsfield account. It uses OAuth and does not require an API key.
How do I connect Higgsfield MCP to Claude?
In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, click Add custom connector, name it Higgsfield, paste https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp, click Connect, then sign in to authorize. For Claude web or Desktop, you can set permissions to Always Allow to avoid prompts.
What does Higgsfield MCP cost and how many credits do I start with?
MCP requires a paid Higgsfield plan. Starter is $19 per month billed annually for 270 credits. Plus is $59 per month ($47 per month billed annually) for 1,200 credits. Every MCP generation deducts credits at the model’s standard rate.
Does Unlimited access on the web reduce MCP credits?
No. Even if you have Unlimited access to a model on the Higgsfield web app, MCP generations still charge credits at the standard model rate. Higgsfield says this is expected, not a bug.
What operations are available through Higgsfield MCP?
MCP supports image and video generation across available models, image and video upscaling, background removal, image outpainting and video reframe, Kling 3.0 motion control, and Soul character and reference Elements. It also supports audio features like voiceover, voice cloning, voice change, and video dubbing, plus tools like Personal Clipper. Unlimited model access and free generations are not available via MCP.
How does credit usage work if I do not specify a model in the prompt?
If you do not name a model, the agent chooses one for each request, which means cost can vary. Some users report misread prompts can cause the agent to pick more expensive models, so it is best to have the agent state the credit cost and wait for your confirmation before generating.
What is the MCP server URL for Higgsfield?
The hosted MCP server URL is https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp. You paste this into supported MCP clients as the connector endpoint.

{ "detail": "Maximum number of concurrent requests (4) has been reached" }

Endpoint | ||
|
